Gardening kits galore!

We were delighted to be able to provide each class with a gardening kit this week, to support seed planting for the Jubilee Year of Hope, and also for our Sunflower competition!
The gardening kits contained recycled plant pots and seed trays, terracotta pots, trowels, seeds, plant labels, compost and watering cans for each class. They were introduced to the children earlier this week in a school assembly.
Jubilee Year of Hope
Each class has used the kits to plant 'seeds of kindness' to mark the Jubilee Year of Hope. They will nurture their seedlings in the new greenhouse until they are ready to be planted in class pots, which each class will decorate. The terracotta pots will be displayed in the school garden area next to the greenhouse. We look forward to a lovely display later this term!
See the more of the kits in our Instagram post.
Sunflower competition
Every child has planted (or soon will be planting!) a couple of sunflower seeds in a pot at school. They will then bring these pots home to nurture and grow. If your child would like to take part in the sunflower competition, there will be a gardening-related prize for the tallest sunflower. Simply email us the measurement and a photo by 5 September.
