Hello from your new chair!

As your new PTFA chair I thought I would write to let you know how it's all going, and to reveal what's in store for 2024!

If we haven’t met already, I’m Helen. I’m married to Matt and we have two daughters - one currently in year 4 and the other at secondary school. We’ve been at St Bon’s for 9 years now (where does the time go??!).

If you’ve seen our annual report which was unveiled at our AGM a few weeks ago then you’ll know it’s an extraordinary time to be involved with the St Bon’s PTFA.

We’ve funded a huge number of things over the past year - from equipment for the playground and wildlife areas, to workshops and performances - all supporting the school’s aims of ‘learning through play’ and ‘encouraging a love for reading’.

And it doesn't stop there. This term as part of the school’s focus on reading and oracy, an award winning author and a famous poet have been invited into school to run assemblies and workshops - all paid for by PTFA funds.

What we do as a PTFA really makes a difference.

So what’s next?

We continue to have big ambitions for the year ahead! These include purchasing much needed IT equipment and books for the library, developing unused parts of the playground, as well as providing funding for workshops for each year group, and for bigger projects too. Watch this space!

We also have some exciting new dates for your diary including:

  • Pre-loved uniform sale on Friday 1 March from 3pm

  • Class bake sales from March (details coming soon)

  • Quiz night for the grown ups on Friday 26 April

  • Discos for KS1/reception and KS2 on Friday 17 May

  • Summer fair on Sunday 23 June from 2-5pm.

Help!

We can’t do all of this without you!

If you have an idea for an event, can offer time, resources, feedback, support behind the scenes, or simply a share on social media - all contributions large or small are very welcome.

If you are interested in getting involved in one of our organising teams (particularly for the events listed above) then please feel free to drop me a line chair@stbonsptfa.com, or catch me in the playground. You can also contact your class rep, or one of our PTFA committee members (contact@stbonsptfa.com).

For further details of all our events and activities keep an eye on our website, Instagram or Facebook, or on your class Whatsapp group.

If you missed the excitement of the AGM a few weeks ago you can catch up here.

Thank you for all your ongoing support for the PTFA.

See you soon!

Helen
