Financial report

Current position: £27,211.44

No remaining funds expected in to the account.

No events now planned until school year starts funds from Sports Day and frozen fridays look to have arrived.

Planned money to go out - Digital Literacy Phase 2 £18,300, we can fund this with current balance and leave ourselves enough in the account to fund the events we have coming up in the new school year for 2026 (disco, xmas fayre, old vic performance, ?online safety event).

If we fund this purchase now, then we need to consider that we are probably not going to be able to start funding anything of any significant size [Health and Wellbeing Project] until 2027 (post disco and Xmas Fayre)

Vote: to send full donation to school for Digital Literacy Phase 2 - Agreed 6/6

JP [Action 6] - to liaise with school to gain photos and feedback to publicise these resources made possible from fundraising efforts across 24-25 and 25-26.

Anonymous donation of £2100 to be spent on STEM activities and resources, with a specific focus on careers for women in these roles, is now in the account and available.

Discussion surrounding STEM spending as planned meeting with school, PTFA Co-Chairs and Donor.

What can the PTFA do to support this activity?

11th Feb 27 = International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The global observance, established by the United Nations and UNESCO, celebrates female achievements in STEM and promotes equal access to careers in science and technology.

People present thought of people in the school community who work in these areas - could reach out to them to see if their companies inreach to primary schools.

? arrange a careers type fair or panel discussion on or around the 11th Feb

Update on Fundraising, Events, competitions, Projects

Standard items:

  • Uniform Shed, all year round, no lead

Harri F has stepped down from PTFA committee.  We thank her for everything she has committed and contributed to the PTFA up to this point.

PTFA Vacancy

When the PTFA meets in September we will review who is taking on what responsibility within the current PTFA elect committee and consider advertising for a PTFA position.

Feedback from last year of managing the uniform shed =

At time very untidy with lots of items directly left in shed instead of going to the office in the first instance.

Many items do not sell and have remained there all year.  So much that the clothing rail collapsed!

Proposal going forward

Uniform shed stocks only:

  • St Bons branded items

  • PE kit

  • Blue chequered Summer dresses

  • Coats

  • Shoes

Vote: - Agreed 6/6

  • New parent welcome, Johanna P leading

PO has reached out to current reception parents to obtain feedback on initial settling in and timing of new parent welcome.

Discussion agreed need to set a date as need to book room

Reviewing calendar and planned induction for September

Proposed

date 25th Sept 2026.

PTFA will fund refreshments, hot and cold drinks, sweet treats and fruit.

no gift for those attending will be purchased, (this was not provided last year, has been something previous PTFAs have funded).

Vote: - Agreed 6/6

  • Feast Fridays, no lead yet for this activity

Discussed repeating feast fridays in Autumn term or waiting until spring for better weather, worked well last year, especially with decision to avoid December due to lots of activity in that month

Feast Friday sales go straight back to classes, want to ensure classes have funds as early as possible in the year so they can enjoy the purchased items they have identified to enrich their classroom experience.

Discussion around health eating and school ethos of healthy meals, as a PTFA we will endeavour to further push the message of Feast Fridays to include option for savoury and healthier items, the opportunity to donate fruit / make healthy snacks for purchase.

Avoid last days of term

25th Sept - Yr 5

2nd Oct - Yr 4

  • Xmas Cards, Sep-Dec, Charlotte B leading

  • Carol concert refreshments, pending lead

Dates to be confirmed with school

  • Xmas Fayre, Lynsey F leading

Discussion regarding date and timing of fayre following feedback about days and Summer fayre running on a Saturday.

Discussion about Xmas fayre in particular not being on a weekend as many people have weekends books up during end of November / December, considering Thursday or Friday for the event.

Discussed impact on school day when setting up for large events as would require PTFA access to classrooms and areas where children are trying to learn.

Also requires PTFA and volunteers to be available during the standard working week in order to set up the event.

Need to consider how a PTFA event would run alongside after school club and any other bookings school have.

Proposed

Sat 28th November 15:00 - 18:00

Vote: - Agreed 6/6

  • Quiz, pending lead

Discussed date of quiz being close to drama production, opportunity to move date to another part of the year where there is less activity.

Thought running event after Xmas post pay day would provide an opportunity to  socialise in the darker months.

Proposed

Fri 5th February

Vote: - Agreed 6/6

  • Drama Refreshments, pending lead

Dates to be confirmed with school

  • Easter Festival refreshments, pending lead

Dates to be confirmed with school

Didn’t provide refreshments last year but keen to run a refreshments stall this coming academic year.

  • Frozen Friday, pending lead

Discussed this year (joint classes and not requiring yr 6 as they have spent a year fundraising for leavers events), felt that joint classes worked well.

End of year, lots of activity, less to commit too.

Considered previous years had started earlier, this year we ran out of time organising meaning was left to busy summer term.

Discussion about healthy eating and healthy foods, could it be fruit instead of as well as ice cream / ice lollies.

Could ask for donated fruit, like donations for feast fridays, this would increase fundraising profit.

Could freeze fruit?

Further discussion to be had around what we are offering for frozen friday.

Money from frozen friday is held by PTFA.

Proposed

Fri 30th April 2027 - Yr 1+Reception

Fri 7th May - Yr 3+2

Fri 14th May - Yr 4+5

Vote: - Agreed 6/6

  • Summer Fayre, Kat P lead

Continued discussion regarding date and time as outlined above under Xmas Fayre.

Feedback from Mrs Woolley that she wondered if there was a way of combining the festival of culture (which runs in line with Refugee Week) which runs after school on a week day,

and the summer fayre, to create a bigger social and celebratory event focused on coming together and welcoming each other (Refugee week = 14-20th June 2027)

Discussion supportive of considering new ways to run the summer fayre and what we could do.

Proposed

Fri 18th June

Vote: - Agreed 6/6

  • AGM, Thursday 1st July

  • Sports day refreshments, pending lead

Dates to be confirmed with school

**Fri 17th July meeting with Mrs Woolley all dates have been agreed with school * *

Extra Events / Competitions:

(craft, dance, plant, tea towel)

Discussed further Adult only events similar to xmas craft, wellbeing, shopping type event, also dance event Ceilidh - further thought about when these would fit into our academic year and who would lead them.

Projects:

Digital literacy - expected to be completed by beginning of next school year now payments have been agreed.

School hoping to purchase items over summer holiday. See finance section above.

Health and Wellbeing - initial approximate budget of £10,000

We are working with the school regarding a large donation to support the health and wellbeing of the whole school community; aligning with the personal, social, health and economic (PHSE) curriculum.

At present the school provides pastoral support, promotes positive behaviour and has access to a number of areas across the school site to support emotional literacy, self-regulation, and resilience skills.  To ensure universal and consistent access to all pupils across the school we are looking to strengthen the provision of and access to resources for emotional literacy, self- regulation and resilience skills.

Supporting children's emotional wellbeing will encourage pupils who are able to feel happier, safer, and more ready to engage in learning, creating positive outcomes for the whole school community.

Drivers:

→ support age appropriate access to wellbeing resources and spaces which provide a calm and nurturing environment where you can reflect and learn to regulate emotions.

→ support the development of important life skills, including emotional literacy, empathy, confidence, self-regulation, and positive relationships, laying strong foundations for lifelong wellbeing and success

Items being considered:

Phase 1

  • Workshops for both pupils and staff (Breathing and/or mindfulness)

  • Resources for both pupils and staff

Phase 2

  • Refurbishment of the wellbeing pod

  • Increased shade around school

  • Seating areas around school

Discussion pending further information from school regarding air conditioning may need to revise fundraising aim.

Discussion also about further wellbeing resources or activities: Yoga, breathing workshops
